For over 25 years Meridian magnesium die casting has been aggressively seeking new and progressive ways to raise the bar on magnesium die casting design and manufacturing. From the creation of our Global Technology Centre in 2000 to the application of new and innovative magnesium die casting technologies to support the rapid flow of information and finished parts, each and every thing we do is designed to support or enhance our leading edge position worldwide.

Began operations in Strathroy Ontario as a division of CAE Webster
1988
Purchased by Cygnus Industries to create Magnesium Products Industries
1989
Purchased by Meridian Technologies Inc
1994
Began operations at the new Eaton Rapids Michigan facility known as Magnesium Products of America (MPA)
1996
Began operations at the new Verres facility known as Magnesium Products of Italy (MPI)
1998
Meridian Technologies Inc privatized with two owners; Teksid S.p.A and Norsk Hydro
2000
Opened new Global Technology Centre in Strathroy Ontario
2001
Began operations at the new Strathroy facility (Plant E)
2002
Successfully launched world's largest magnesium die cast component and industry's first magnesium structural body component
2003
Began operations at the new Nottinghamshire facility known as Meridian Technologies United Kingdom (MTUK)
2003
Signed Joint Venture with SCAAC, a subsidiary of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. (SAIC) for manufacturing facility in Shanghai, PRC (SMMP)
2004
Opened Engineering /Sales office in Tokyo Japan
2005
Begin operations in new Shanghai facility (SMMP)
2005
Received 2004 DaimlerChrysler Gold Award
2005
Successfully launched industry's first magnesium engine cradle
2006
Installs 3000 Ton Die Cast Machine at its Shanghai Meridian Magnesium Products (SMMP) facility to accommodate additional OEM programs
2006
Formed a second joint venture in China with BoAo Magnesium located in the southwest industry center of Chongqing. Chongqing Meridian BoAo Magnesium (CMBM) officially opens November 2006
