In order to be the global leader in the magnesium die casting industry you have to be able to offer more than just die casting. Meridian's Product Engineering Group offers our customers in-house design capability that leads the industry. We have vast experience in the design development of thin walled structural magnesium die cast components and also the development of new and innovative magnesium applications. We bring to the customer the understanding of material properties, the experience to design for magnesium material and also to design for the manufacturing process.
Meridian magnesium die casting uses CAE as a design tool to ensure the product is optimized for both performance and weight and are very experienced in the development of components to survive in crash and severe durability events. We have proven excellent correlation with simulation and component physical testing and have developed a magnesium die casting design approach that provides a robust and reliable design solution.
Specific CAD packages include SDRC I-DEAS, CATIA and UNI-GRAPHICS with FEA analysis being handled using both linear and non-linear solvers. In addition we have in-house CFD capability.
Since we also manufacture these same components at any of our 6 manufacturing facilities, customers are assured that all magnesium die cast components are also maximized for material usage efficiency, finish quality and overall manufacturing excellence.
