Meridian Technologies were proud to sponsor and exhibit at the 61st IAA Autoshow in Frankfurt Germany which took place from Sept. 15th to Sept. 25th, 2005. The IAA Autoshow is one of the biggest automotive shows in Europe with over 1 million visitors attending over a 14 day period. Meridian Technologies were on hand to demonstrate the latest technologies in magnesium high pressure die casting and had a variety of castings to highlight the newest applications. The award winning Land Rover Discovery is a vehicle that Meridian is proud to supply both the magnesium Cross Car Beam and the magnesium Front End Carrier and these products were front and center to show the many benefits and special features that magnesium castings bring to the automotive components market. Also on hand was the industry’s first magnesium structural chassis component, the engine cradle for the ever popular 500hp Corvette Z06. This application provides a 35% weight savings over the previous aluminum design.
Over the two weeks of the show, several customers along with various Engineering and Purchasing departments visited the booth to discuss Meridian’s capabilities in developing competitive engineered solutions for a number of automotive applications.
In taking part in this monumental event, Meridian Technologies continues to demonstrate its leading edge design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities on a global scale.
