Meridian Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce that it has formed a second joint venture in China with BoAo Magnesium located in the southwest industry center of Chongqing.
Chongqing Meridian BoAo Magnesium Co. Ltd. (CMBM) will officially open on November 1, 2006.
Having an existing presence in the Shanghai area with Shanghai Meridian Magnesium Products (SMMP) serving the automotive market in China and abroad, the second joint venture will expand Meridian’s product range to include non-automotive products.
Paolo Maccario, President and CEO states, “CMBM will expand Meridian’s manufacturing reach within China, by adding capacity in its central regions and serving future needs of local customers. Further, it will expand our non-automotive product line, serving, for example, the motorcycle industry local to Chongqing, and many of the power-tools companies that have invested there.”
The current capacity at CMBM ranges from 280Tonne to 800Tonne die cast machines as well as having machining and assembly capabilities. In addition, various types of surface treatment will be added in the near future.
